Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel, Manaus, Brazil |
The only hotel complex at tree top level in the Amazon Rainforest. Seventy feet up into the tree-tops of the Amazon i t is completely built at the level of the rainforest canopy and features over 3 miles of catwalks which link the entire complex whilst affording visitors an intimate communion with the flora and fauna of the Amazon region. Ariau is located 35 miles from Manaus on the confluence of the Rio Negro and Ariau Creek at the foot of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, the largest fresh water archipelago in the world. The region is considered one of the most biologically diverse regions known to man.
Ariau Amazon Towers was opened in 1987 and has 288 units: apartments, suites (located in the towers) and Tree Houses. The access to the hotel is made by a regional boat (2 hours), helicopter (15 minutes) or by fast boat (50 minutes). Activities include a jungle walk, swimming with dolphins, a caiman hunt and even pirhana fishing. Facilities at the hotel include 2 swimming pools at the height of treetops, two observation towers 41 metres high, a panoramic auditorium with capacity for 450 people, fully equipped with audiovisual resources and a beautiful view of Rio Negro and the Amazon Forest. |
