In no other European capital will you find the city centre so thronged so late into the night, as though some unwritten law forbade sleeping before dawn. To experience Madrid is to linger over a late lunch, settle down to a siesta, keep hunger at bay at a local tapas bar, and don't expect dunner until at least 10pm! However if you want to unwind you can take a day trip to nearby Toledo or Segovia, but keep in mind that Madrid on its own is not for those looking for a beach and sunbed honeymoon - rather a more intense and passionate holiday... |
